Reflections
“Reflections” in my investigations i used the word “reflection” in my body of work to express reflection, both as a physical phenomenon—seen in mirrors, glass, and water—and as a metaphor for self-examination and introspection. The tension between these two forms of reflection allows for a versatile exploration of identity, perception, and existence. With this body of work I demonstrate my interest in the challenge of working with reflective surfaces while at the same time reflecting on fond memories, places I love, and concepts that I am interested in pursuing as I make steps toward my professional career in the arts. I use two media in my investigation, painting and photography, to better understand reflective qualities and in turn, better understand myself.
